Why "Add to Cart to See YOUR Price"?
A customer recently asked: "Why do I have to add an item to the cart before I can see my price? It's so irritating!"
Well, it's actually not our choice, it is imposed on us by the manufacturers whose items we sell.
In an effort to try to keep advertised prices even and fair, some manufacturers have imposed a "Minimum Advertised Price" (M.A.P.) policy on some, or all, of their products. Their policies dictate that dealers, such as iMarine, cannot advertise prices any lower that what the manufacturer sets as the M.A.P. price. This applies to all advertising, whether on our website, or on internet searches. This is why the price you pay in our cart can sometimes be lower than the price we advertise on internet product searches..
So, in order to offer any price which is lower that the manufacturers M.A.P. price, we must have you take the step of adding an item to the cart before we show you the actual purchase price.
